The history of our choir began in 2000, when the male choir had acquired the status of independent collective.
Earlier , in 1984, on the base of Child Music school №7 (nowadays Child Art School №7) by A.Bezuhov, the alumnus of State Conservatory named after M.I.Glinka in Gorkii (nowadays N.Novgorod) was founded a boy choir which became popular not only in Yaroslavl region but beyond the bounds. At present A.Bezuhov is an honoured worker of culture of Russian Federation. In 1990 was an interesting project – the male group of was founded choir which consisted of fathers of choristers, who sing nowadays. Subsequently child substituted their parents. The collective got the title – "The choir of boys and lads". In 2000 Alexey Kornev became the artistic director of the choir. He has finished Music Academy named after Sobinov in Yaroslavl and State University named after Nekrasov in Kostroma. He is an alumnus of our choir. He has already worked with our collective. From 1995 he had been working as a choirmaster and the chief administrator. In 2000 Kornev made from a "Choir of boys and lads" two substantive collectives – The Choir of Boys of Child Art School №7 and Male Chamber Choir, which was called "Yaroslavskiy Spev" in 2006. Today "Yaroslavskiy Spev" consists of more than 20 performers. All of them are alumnus’s of child Art School №7 at the age from 17 to 35. The choir conducts progressive creative activity, cooperates with many Russian and foreign collectives. During the time of existence Male chamber Choir performed with concert programs in Russia (Moscow, Kazan, Naberejnue Chelni, Elabuga, Tver, Kostroma, Vologda, Cherepovec, Pereslavl, Rybinsk, Arkhangelsk), in Germany (Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig, Zvikkau, Radeboil), in Sweden (Christianstad, Ahus), in Poland (Miendzyzdroje, Leshno), in France (Paris). Every year the choir downplays above 30 concerts, participates in different festivals and competitions:
